The name has remained as a micro-toponym even after the land’s original function changed, making Fidanishtja one of the few areas of Gjilan that carries a name with a direct link to the city’s agricultural past.

From the Agricultural School to the barracks

According to the same source, after World War II, the Agricultural School was built on the land of Fidanishtja. Later, this building was turned into a military barracks.
